There are two main Thermal labels that we supply. Direct Thermal Labels and also Thermal Transfer labels, The direct thermal labels do not use any ribbon or black foil with them, it acts sort of like fax thermal paper, when heat is applied through the printer head of the Thermal Label Printer the image appears on the Direct Thermal Labels. In contracts to that thermal Transfer labels are just as popular but use a black foil ribbon. This ribbon is fed into the printer with the ribbons and your printer head din the Thermal Transfer printer heats the foil onto the Thermal transfer label surface, thus creating the image you wish to print onto your thermal labels.
